Fr. Mike's Message

Fr Mike

Welcome to Sundays after Pentecost - - - Ordinary Time

Our weekend Masses during the summer and into the fall of the year are titled Sundays after Pentecost. These Sundays begin after June 5/6, the feast of The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and continue through the feast of Christ the King, November 20/21 and the first Sunday of Advent, November 27/28. During this time we will wear green vestments, except when a feast like the Assumption of Mary, August 15, falls on Sunday then we wear white vestments.

The Gospel readings during this time will speak to us about the kingdom of God and describe the miracles and teachings of Jesus. In Jesus’ own time this was given to his apostles and disciples but it is also true for us today, his modern apostles and disciples.

Please plan ahead to celebrate Mass with your parish family on a regular weekly basis - - - and when away on vacation, check  www.masstimes.org  to know where you can attend Mass.

God Bless and have a great summer!

Father Mike
