LENTEN MESSAGE
 
The Church offers the season of Lent in order that we have time to prepare for the Paschal Mystery --- the suffering, death, and resurrection --- Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. During the six weeks of assigned Lenten time, we are encouraged to make a change in our lives, to turn toward God. In order to assist us in this conversion, we accept the Gospel message of practicing almsgiving, fasting and prayer. These practices will assist us in “rending” our hearts and “reconciling” with our God.
 
May the season of Lent help us to grow in our appreciation of the solemnity of the Paschal Mystery. May the season of Lent help us to grow in our relationship with our every loving and forgiving God. May the season of Lent help us to put into practice our Christian life.

Lent 2010 -  

 

In addition to our regular weekday Masses at 7:00 am (Monday-Friday Main Church) and 12:10 pm (Monday and Wednesday Downtown Church) there will also be a Friday, 12:10 pm Mass at the Downtown Church each Friday during Lent along with the Stations of the Cross each Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the Downtown Church
