E.C.R.E.

E.C.R.E. is a program that serves as a "Sunday School" for the 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old children of the parish. Classes are held during the 10:00 a.m. Mass at the Main Church from September to May.

Registration is held in the Spring, and all forms and fees are due by July 1st. However, newcomers to the program may register at any time if class space is available.

Philosophy

The E.C.R.E. Program, through its volunteer chatechist, is established to provide an introductory religious program in a classroom environment for preschool children of the parish.

Recognizing the fact that parents are the primary teachers, we commit ourselves to cooperate and assist parents in making the teachings of Jesus viable and meaningful in the lives of children.

Help each child develop a religious sensitivity through life's experiences and to develop an awareness of the presence of God in themselves and their environments.

To achieve these goals, we follow a curriculum, which presents the message of the Gospel, the doctrine of the Church and it's traditions. The children learn to worship and offer service to the community.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend faithfully. Too many absences disrupt the faith development of the student as well as the class. If a child is absent 3 times in a row, the teacher will contact you to see if your child will still be attending (we do have waiting lists).

Building/Room Use

The E.C.R.E. Program shares the classroom space of the School and Formation Center. SMS and personal property of teachers and students are to be left untouched. Replacement of any intentionally damaged items falls on the responsible individual not the E.C.R.E. program.
