"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian Life, the gateway to life in the spirit, and the door which gives access to other sacraments” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213)
To begin the process of having your child baptized at St. Michael, please call the Parish Office at 419.422.2646 or use the online form below. You will then be scheduled for either a baptism class or a meeting with a baptism counselor.
If it is your first child or has been several years since your last child was baptized, you will need to attend a baptism class.
The purpose of the baptism class is to:
• Review the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding baptism
• Review requirements regarding being a baptism sponsor
• Explain the significance of the parts of the baptism ritual
• Distribute all forms that need to be completed
Baptism classes are scheduled every other month at 2:00 PM and will be held in person. If you have already attended a baptism class, you will need to meet with a Baptism Counselor

• Remind parents of the Catholic Church’s teaching regarding baptism
• Distribute all forms that need to be completed

When all required paperwork is submitted, your child’s baptism can be scheduled.

The baptism of your child can occur at Mass or at a Baptism Ceremony.
