St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, founded in 1834, serves as the only Roman Catholic Parish in Hancock County. Comprised of over 3,200 families, St. Michael is the home of a PreK-8th Grade Parish School, averaging 500 students and a mission of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist with a convent completed in the summer of 2020. The cornerstone of the Downtown Church was laid 1866 and our Main Campus Church was dedicated in 2003.
