Making a Good Lent
When we think of making a good Lent, hopefully we are thinking of ways that we can die to sin, rise to life and go forth living our Christian life. Dying means letting go of earthly concerns that may tempt us to sin or harm our relationship with God. Rising means renewing a spiritual life centered on Christ and His daily presence in our life. Going forth is living our Christian life by spreading the mission of Christ to others by the way we live our lives and adopt Christian vales. Your regular Lenten practices of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving help us to make Paschal mystery changes in our life.
Without a doubt, the Mass is our best and most important prayer. When we think of the Mass as the Pascal mystery it’s hard to imagine that we could possibly miss/even give ourselves permission to miss this prayer. Let us be united in our parish with a commitment to attend the Mass, praying for ourselves and for parishioners, family and friends.
